RETURNS TO PITTSBURGH’S – MONROEVILLE CONVENTION CENTER
FEBRUARY 16 – 18
PITTSBURGH, PA (Feb 1, 2018) … One of Pittsburgh’s great sports traditions, the Allegheny Outdoor Sport and Travel Show, will celebrate its 33rd year of bringing the best of hunting, fishing, camping, boating, vacation planning and off-roading under one roof when it returns to the Pittsburgh/Monroeville Convention Center for 3 Big Days – Friday, February 16 through Sunday, February 18.
On Saturday, Feb 17 at 1 PM find out how to STRETCH YOUR BUCK! Be sure to attend Chef Albert Wutsch’s live cooking demonstration with venison from the field; prepared for the table.
During his seminar you will learn about Pennsylvania’s own venison donation program, Hunters Sharing the Harvest, now in its 26th season. This unique charitable program distributes your donated venison to the statewide network of food banks, food pantries and hunger-relief organizations each season to help feed those at risk of hunger.
“We had a great time last year at our first fundraiser, said John Plowman, exec director of the HSH. “So, we’re doing it again this year with Chef Albert and the IUP students again preparing and serving samples of donated venison to attendees for a donation to the program.”
“We raised some money last year, but more important, we raised awareness that your extra deer can be donated at no cost to you to help others who are truly hungry.”
Following the demonstration, all are invited to sample two kinds of venison chili prepared by the students for a donation. Business partnerships are also needed to help offset the cost of processing the donated venison. For more information go to www.sharedeer.org or attend Chef Albert’s Cooking demonstration to find out how you can get involved.
